Question:
Morning Charlie, I have a question concerning the two or more 20 amp kitchen small appliance circuits for counter layout, in the pantry area that has a counter that is a separate little room next to the kitchen without a sink in that room, do the counter receptacles now have to be GFCI also since it is not in the kitchen as per 210.(A)(8)(6)? Thank you Charlie

A
Answer:
Hey Butch thanks for your question. No. Receptacles in the pantry do not require GFCI protection because it is not a kitchen as that is the word used in 210.8(A)(6). If there is no sink in the pantry then 210.8(A)(7) does not apply.
