I have downloaded the 2017 Edition of the NFPA NEC Handbook and was pleasantly surprised to read:
"This edition of the National Electrical Code® Handbook is dedicated to Michael J. Johnston for his outstanding leadership during both the 2014 and 2017 revision cycles of the NEC®. While Mike continues as chair of the NEC Correlating Committee through the 2020 edition of the NEC, his leadership has been so exceptional that we chose to honor him before the end of his tenure. He is a true leader, with unwavering dedication to the mission and the people who make it all happen."
As a former member of CMP-10 (Article 240), I know Mike personally and know that the statement about him to be true and the dedication on that page continues. If you have already purchased the handbook, please take the time to read Page iii in its entirety. If you have not purchased the handbook, I highly recommend purchasing it due to the extraordinarily clear and concise explanatory text, illustrations and photographs. Mark W. Earley, P.E., Editor-in-Chief and his team of experts have done a fantastic job with the handbook . . . again!

Hey Charlie it's good to hear from you and thanks for your comment - it is a perfect transition into next year. Yes there is a lot to be proud of; looking at Mike's accomplishments he is very deserving and provides a significant contribution to the electrical industry. NECA is very fortunate to have him.
Beginning in January the Code Question of the Day will be based on the 2017 NEC so we will see many of the changes that were accomplished under his leadership.
