Question:
Is it "OK" to connect the equipotential bond grid to the main ground buss in the service panel? I say NO, electrician on job site says it must, and inspector passed it!.....
Kirk Knapp
A
Answer:
Hey Kirk thanks for your question. The purpose of the equipotential bonding is to reduce voltage gradients in the pool area as stated in the first sentence of 680.26. The last sentence of 680.26(B) states that the bonding conductor does not have to be extended to remote panelboards, service equipment, or electrodes - but it does not prohibit that from being done. So it is Ok to do that, but it is not required.
