Question:
With all of the alternative power sources available now can a house have D.C. Power for lights and controls?
Kevin
A
Answer:
Hey Kevin thanks for your question. Sure, 210.70 provide locations where lighting outlets are required but does not specify that they need to be supplied from alternating current sources. Articles 411, 720, and 725 also have specific rules for dc circuits. I suspect there might be some rules in the NEC that will need to be revised to address the increased use of dc systems.
