Question:
Re: CQD answer published Monday, March 21, 2016 - Tamper Resistant Receptacles
Since the question dealt with a hotel, I am confused by the unqualified use of the dwelling unit provisions. Do we know if provisions for cooking are present? That would perhaps allow the Dwelling Unit provision. More usual in a hotel would be Guest Rooms and Guest Suites. Refer Article 100. Would that not make NEC 406.13 applicable?
Sincerely, Lyth Clark

Answer:
Hey Lyth thanks for your follow up question. It would if we were using the 2011 NEC but in the 2014 NEC 406.13 (and 406.14) has been moved into 406.12. Guest rooms and guest rooms are in 406.12(B) but the exception applies to (A), (B), and (C).
