Question:
When calculating the load on the grounded (neutral) conductor should the adjustment factor for a continuous load be included? In 215.2(A)(1) Exc. 2 continuous load adjustments on feeders can be excluded where the grounded conductor does not terminate on a circuit breaker. Does this provision also apply to service conductors? I did not find a similar exception in Article 220 or 230.

Answer:
Hey Nathan it's good to hear from you, thanks for your question. The 125% value does not need to be applied to grounded service entrance conductors that are not connected to an overcurrent device as stated in 230.42(A)(1) Exception. Interestingly because the rule and exception is in Part IV it appears to only apply to service entrance conductors, but not overhead or underground service conductors. Might be a good place for a Public Input or two for the 2020 NEC.
