Question:
Hello,
If I have a 240 volt PV solar disconnect line tapped as the first means of disconnect main panel. Do I need to run a neutral and bond the neutral if the system does not require any neural?
Thomas Hernandez
A
Answer:
Hi Thomas,
Based on the installation described, there is a requirement for supply-side bonding at the PV solar disconnect. This can be accomplished using the grounded conductor installed to that disconnect, or it can be accomplished using a supply-side bonding jumper meeting the requirements in Section 250.102(C). The PV disconnect is not typically viewed as a service disconnect in this scenario, but because the connection is made to the line side of the service disconnect, supply-side bonding is necessary.
