First, thank you for this valuable resource and your time. My questions are : 1. Is USE triplex/quadplex cable considered a cable assembly ? 2. What would be the correct method to terminate triplex/quadplex USE cable to a cabinet ?

Hey Kelly thanks for your question and you are welcome. Yes, multiconductor USE is a cable assembly as defined in 338.2. There are various methods for using USE cable, for example installing it in a raceway for physical protection where it emerges from grade, as stated on 300.5(D)(1). In that case the raceway would be connected to the enclosure at the end of the raceway by the rules for the specific raceway. If a change is made to open wiring the rules in 300.13 apply. Sections 338.10 and 338.12 provide the rules for uses permitted and not permitted for service entrance cable with differing conditions depending on whether they are service conductors or branch circuits or feeders.
