Are drip pans still OK in electrical rooms where overhead plumbing piping is running over electrical equipment.

Hey Paul thanks for your question. Yes Drip pans are acceptable and can even be required to provide protection from condensation or leaks from foreign systems installed above switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, and motor control centers. The drip pans must be 6 ft above the top of the electric equipment as stated in 110.26(E)(1).
