Question:
A class B ground-fault circuit-interrupter will trip when the current exceeds what value?
A
Answer:
UL indicates in their 1997 edition of the White Book (In my opinion, this is the rest of the Code book. I you don't have one, get one.) on page 98 that the class B ground-fault circuit-interrupter will trip when the current exceeds 20 milliamperes.
I have made the statement about the UL White Book enough times to draw a salary from them; however, I do mean the statement. If you would like to get one, they are available at most of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors meetings for FREE.
