Question from 12-23-2019: If a commercial office furniture manufacturer uses UL approved electrical components but UL has not certified the product/system is the manufacture code compliant for use in a commercial office building?

Hi Eric, thanks for the question.
Office furnishings are not required to be listed (certified) as an assembly by a qualified electrical testing laboratory. The scope of Article 605 indicates that the article covers electrical equipment, lighting accessories, and wiring systems used to connect to, contained in, or installed on office furnishings.
