Question:
Hello CQD, we are wiring an above-ground swimming pool, and the entire perimeter of swimming pool is eventually going to be stamped concrete. Is a perimeter surface bond still required even though the area around the pool is going to be concrete?
Thanks in advance,
Jim S
A
Answer:
Hi Jim, the "Perimeter Surfaces" bonding required by Section 680.26(B)(2) applies to both paved and unpaved surfaces. Even though the perimeter will be concrete, perimeter bond must be installed. The bonding can be installed in the concrete, or below the concrete in the substrate. The requirements on the installation of the Perimeter Surfaces bond can be found in Section 680.26(A)-(C).
