Question:
Good Day CQD,
Does a complete factory incapsulate in PVC, metal wall Of an above ground pool that will then have a liner installed require bonding? All of the supporting structure is 100% Plastic.
Steve from Jersey
A
Answer:
Hello,
Steve from New Jersey, and thanks for the question. If there are no conductive parts exposed, then bonding would not be required other than to bond the water to the perimeter surface around the pool as required in 680.26(B)(2) and the pool water itself as required in 680.26(C). The pool pump motor is required to be connected to the bonding grid unless it is a double insulated motor, as indicated in 680.26(B)(6). If unsure about these bonding requirements, you might do well to consult the local inspector about the installation.
