Question:
Is a conduit under a building slab (inside the perimeter of the building foundation) considered a direct buried conduit? Is there any cover requirement for a conduit under a building slab?
Michael Oles
A
Answer:
Hey Michael thanks for your question. If I understand your example correctly then yes, a conduit in the earth under a building is directly buried. There is no cover requirement as found in Table 300.5 for wiring methods under buildings - whether a slab exists or not. Apparently that area is not considered likely to be excavated which could damage the conduit and wiring.
