Question:
Hello,
Thanks so much for this NEC Q&A Blog. Can I install a single ground rod for a temporary 100-ampere construction service? The inspector says two are required. What if I provided a test that verifies/determines and documents that the single rod does not exceed 25 ohms resistance in the connection to the ground.

Answer:
Hi Sonny,
Thanks for the nice comments. You appear to have it down. The NEC generally requires two ground rods, or a single rod can be installed if it meets the 25-ohm requirement, which is an exception to Section 250.53(A)(2).
