Question:

Contractor is requesting to spec and use DLO cable from disconnect switch to line reactor on a 480V compressor and from the line reactor to the compressor drive. the new feeder is parallel 350KCMIL and space in the reactor is limited on bend radius, is DLO cable acceptable to use and spec?

Answer:

Hey Christopher thanks for your question. No, unless it is also marked with some other type of insulation that is included in Table 310.104. DLO cable is intended for use on diesel locomotives but there are some available dual marked such as DLO/RHH. Also make sure all terminations are identified for the fine stranding as stated in the second paragraph of 110.14.
