Question:
Good Morning,
My question is related to pipe entires in dry type transformer enclosures. Is there a Code that provides this information? Also, can a dry-type transformer be installed on a plywood floor of a second level mezzanine?
Thanks.

Answer:
Hello Paul,
Dry-type transformer enclosures are usually marked on the inside of the enclosure with a line and a requirement to keep the connected conductors below that line. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. For your second question, Section 450.21(A) restricts transformers from being installed closer than 12 inches to combustible material, unless separated from the the combustible material by use of a fire-resistant, heat-insulated barrier.
