Question:
Hello,
Can a plug-in circuit breaker be installed in a panelboard and be backfed to serve as a main breaker for the Panelboard?
Thomas Gentry
A
Answer:
Hi Thomas,
Thanks for participating. Yes, the Code permits breakers installed in panelboards to be backfed if in accordance with Section 408.36(D) which indicates the breaker shall be secured in place by an additional fastener that requires other than a pull to release the device from the mounting means on the panelboard.
