Question:
Greetings CQD Staff,
An inspector recently failed our job because a pneumatic airline was installed inside a conduit supplying equipment. This happens multiple times throughout the project. Is there an NEC rule that prohibits this?
Your insight would be much appreciated.

Answer:
Hello Burt,
Yes, the inspector has a good point. There is an NEC rule that prohibits the type of installation described in the question. Section 300.8 clearly indicates that raceways or cable trays containing electrical conductors shall not contain any pipe, tube, or equal for steam, water, air, gas, drainage, or any service other than electrical.
Hope this is useful.
