The National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) reports that "The OSHA Electric Transmission & Distribution Partnership is one of only six national partnerships between employers and the federal job safety agency." OSHA and key stakeholders, including NECA, signed an agreement to extend the formal collaboration for two more years.

Dedicated to identifying, evaluating, and finding ways to prevent on-the-job deaths and injuries to electrical contractors and those in related fields, the partnership "has collected and analyzed accident data, developed of an OSHA safety course specifically for linemen, and gained a better understanding of risky behavior in the 'lineman culture.'"
