Question:

Hello CQD. Does the same securing and supporting methods have to take place if the flexible metal conduit only contains low voltage wiring? Thanks, Hannah Malone

Answer:

Greetings Hannah. If the flexible metal conduit (FMC) has power-limited wiring covered by Article 725, the FMC would be securing and supporting requirements in Section 348.30. If the low-voltage wiring is covered by Chapter 8 of the NEC®, the FMC would still need to comply with Section 348.30 for securing and supporting as Section 800.110(A)(1) specifically requires low-voltage wiring installed in raceways, must comply with the applicable rules in Chapter 3 of the NEC®.
