Question:
Do all circuits in a Kitchen need to GFCI, or only those at the counter top ?
Mark Burford
A
Answer:
Hey Mark thanks for your question. In dwelling unit kitchens, only those 15 and 20 ampere 125 volt receptacles to serve the countertop and those within 6 ft of the top inside bowl edge of a sink need GFCI protection as stated in 210.8(A)(6) and 210.8(A)(7). For kitchens in other than dwelling units all receptacles described in 210.8(B) must have GFCI protection as stated in 210.8(B)(2).
