Hey Stephen thanks for your question. Yes. all 125 volt, single phase, 15 and 20 ampere receptacles located in kitchens in other than dwelling units must have GFCI protection as stated in 210.8(B)(2). A kitchen is defined in Article 100 as an area with a sink and permanent provisions for food preparation and cooking.
