Question:
A feeder supplies 1/3 continuous load and 2/3 noncontinuous load, how do you determine the load on the feeder?
A
Answer:
Section 220-10(b) states in part 'The minimum feeder circuit conductor size, without the application of any adjustment or correction factors, shall have an allowable ampacity equal to or greater than the noncontinuous load plus 125 percent of the continuous load.' So, multiply the calculated continuous load by 125% and then add the calculated noncontinuous load.
