Question:
I was ganging five steel device boxes together and notice the capital letters which are stamped on the built in clamps. The letters were a T on one side and an N on the other. What do they mean?
A
Answer:
UL indicates in their 1997 edition of the White Book (In my opinion, this is the rest of the Code book. I you don't have one, get one.) on page 146 that N means the clamp is listed for use with nonmetallic sheathed (Romex) cable and the T indicates the clamp is listed for use with flexible tubing (loom).
