Manufacturers who produce electrical materials and equipment have discovered that the NEIS provide a clear demonstration of their products’ quality when installed using NEIS. Manufacturers also participate in the development of the National Electrical Installation Standards.

Many aspects of electrical equipment installation are not provided in the National Electrical Code, because the NEC contains the minimum requirements for safe electrical systems. The NEIS provide a platform for users to better understand the various applications for their products and how they can be specified and incorporated into quality installations in construction.
